Privacy Policy
Last updated June 25, 2026
Ink Bookie (“Ink Bookie,” “we,” “us”) provides booking, client-management, scheduling, and payment tools for tattoo artists and studios. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Ink Bookie you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email, and login credentials, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk). If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile (name, email address, profile picture).
- Business profile — details you add, such as studio name, location, styles, pricing, and availability.
- Client information you enter — names, contact details (email, phone, Instagram), city, tattoo request details, and reference photos you or your clients upload.
- Payment information — when you or your clients pay, card processing is handled by Stripe and Square; we store records of transactions (amounts, status, dates), not full card numbers. Zelle/Venmo handles are stored if you add them.
- Google Calendar data — only if you choose to connect Google Calendar, so we can create and sync your appointments (see Google API limited use below).
- Communications — emails (sent via Resend) and text messages (sent via Twilio) related to bookings and reminders.
- Technical data — basic logs, device, and browser information used to operate and secure the service, including Google Analytics cookies and identifiers used to measure how the site is used.
How we use information
We use the information to operate Ink Bookie: create and manage bookings, send appointment reminders and other notifications, process payments and deposits, sync your calendar, provide support, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal information.
Google user data (Calendar)
Connecting Google Calendar is optional. If you connect it, Ink Bookie accesses your Google account data solely to provide the calendar feature, as follows:
- Access:we read your list of calendars and your events’ free/busy times so we can show your availability and prevent double-booking.
- Use: we create, update, and delete only the appointment events that belong to your Ink Bookiebookings (optionally in a dedicated “Ink Bookie” calendar we create to hold them). We do not change your other events.
- Store: we store the secure connection token and your Ink Bookie appointment details in our database. We do not copy or retain the contents of your other calendars.
- Share & limits: we never sell this data, never use it for advertising or to train AI or machine-learning models, and never share it with third parties — except with Google itself to operate the feature.
- Revoke: you can disconnect Google Calendar at any time in Settings, which immediately ends our access, or revoke it from your Google Account permissions.
Ink Bookie’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Service providers we share with
We share data only with the providers that power the product, each acting on our behalf:
- Clerk — authentication
- Google — calendar sync and sign-in (when connected)
- Stripe and Square — payment processing
- Resend — email delivery
- Twilio — SMS delivery
- Cloudflare R2 — photo and file storage
- Neon and Vercel — database and hosting
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage and traffic analytics
We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can delete clients, projects, and other records at any time; deleting your account removes your data, subject to short backup and legal-retention windows.
Security
We protect your data — including any data we access from Google — with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption at rest, access controls that limit who can reach it, and reputable infrastructure providers. Google OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only to provide the calendar feature. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your information from within the app or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
Children
Ink Bookie is for professional use by adults and is not directed to children under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; we’ll revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
